Welcome!
I’d say pull up a chair and sit a spell, but as an introvert with quite pathetic social skills, I am perfectly happy with you staying right where you are and reading at your own pace.
You can, however, call me Llama. To one or two people, I am Mama Llama. For two people I am (Grandma) Llama. Scattered about here and there are folks that call me Llama just because they thought it was a perfect nickname for someone cute and fuzzy like me. (If you could see my hair….)
No, I don’t spit.
I like to think of myself as someone that adapts to most changes in life fairly easily. This blog is a change I am bringing about myself in the hopes of bringing more of my creativity to the forefront of my life. Not only is my blog a new part of my life, but I have also started a new story that may or may not turn into a novel. I’m even, sort of, participating in NaNoWriMo (look it up, it’s pretty cool).
Some thoughts on who I am and why I am doing this:
- I recently turned 60. I know, I know, age is just a number…
- I am coming out of a foggy and fatigue-y two-year period after being sick in March of 2020. Since my fog is lifting faster than my fatigue, I’ve become wicked antsy to “do stuff.” I love writing. I think words are magic. This is my stuff until I can do more stuff. (Then I’ll write about the new stuff!)
- One can only crochet so much before one’s mind starts to wander. It wandered here.
- I want to explore this new decade and its interaction with life: watching my classmates retire one by one, testing out which discounts I qualify for now besides pancakes and coffee, and figuring out creative ways to get back up after playing on the floor with my grandchildren.
So, again, I say welcome. Join me as I walk (or slightly hobble if my hip is acting up) boldly into my 60s and experience what the world has to offer.
