What better subject to research than food AND discounts! Poor me, but someone’s got to do it.
I found a list that claims to have provided chain restaurants that have senior discounts. Applebee’s was at the top of the list (alphabetically speaking) stating the discount is 10-15% off, varies by location, and may need something called the Golden Apple Card. Nothing was found on Applebee’s website, so I gave them a call and was told the following:
- Yes, there is a Senior Discount (10%)
- You don’t have to sign up for anything
- It can be applied in person and over the phone
- It cannot apply to ordering online
- They don’t have a minimum age and don’t ask you to prove it
I’ll be putting this to the test sometime in the future.
I did try one place in person though. I went to Texas Roadhouse with some family members last evening for the first time. After driving past it for many years, I finally gave it a shot.
Don’t judge me.
The rolls are to die for.
As for senior discounts, there aren’t any. I did notice their early dine menu, though! Monday through Thursday until 6pm, you can enjoy select menu options for only $10.99.
Notably, though, they do have a military discount! Our server wasn’t sure if it was 10% or 15%, but it’s valid when showing a military ID.
I plan on checking out local (not chain) restaurants, too. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Economically and gastronomically curious,
Llama
