Whatever shall I do? My best friend has been on a trip to Italy for a week now and won’t be back for another week. Another dear friend is about to board a plane for Paris and a third just got over a virus and is heading off to Florida in a day or two.
No, not THE virus.
Although truth be told, I kept my distance. One cannot be too careful these days…but, now I’m totally off-topic. Where was I?
Ah yes, the Lonely Llama. It’s not like I’m jealous or anything. I’ll be taking my own excursion in the near future (and hopefully get a couple of fun blogs out of it, too!). It’s just that I’m so used to texting and messaging these three that I turned to my husband and asked (you probably guessed this by now) “whatever shall I do?” and “I’m all alone.”
He responded with a raised eyebrow as if to say, “what am I, chopped liver?” Seriously, if he was chopped liver, I’d be grabbing crackers instead of…oh, that sounds terrible.
I promise I am not a cannibal.
Anyway…
I remember hearing other people talk about retirement and wondering what they will do with their time. Now is the time to delve back into things we love or things we tucked aside while we raised families or worked hard to keep a roof over our heads (or both!). So that when life is quiet, and your friends all desert you for fun adventures, you’ll be fine in the world you created.
Honestly, though, I don’t feel lonely at all. I have my books, my yarn work, the anticipation of stories from faraway lands…and, of course, Mr. Chopped Liver. (I love you, honey)
Until next time,
The Not-So-Lonely Llama
