The last time I blogged about visiting Disney World, I focused on mobility. That was helpful, but you also want some ideas of where to go while you’re popping around on your groovy new sneaks or cruising along (carefully watching for pedestrians) in your ECV (electric conveyance vehicle, also sometimes known as a scooter).
It’s essential to know the lay of the land when visiting Disney World. Yes, it’s important for everyone but even more so for those of us “of a certain age.”
One word: bathrooms.
Yes, you can giggle now, if you so choose.
When you first walk into a Disney Park, you will see a kiosk of maps. Be careful if you take one. It may be in a language you don’t speak, yet.
What does she mean “yet?” (That’s for another blog, so stay tuned)
The maps are great for finding everything at Disney – IF you can read the tiny print.
Luckily, there is another solution: Disney has an app called My Disney Experience. It will be your best friend whether it’s checking on your plans for the visit, skipping the lines for quick service restaurants, or…yes…finding the bathrooms.
When looking at the app, there is an upside-down water droplet-shaped icon. It’s a map icon. When you click on that, it will show you a map of the park you are in and can easily be changed to another park. At the top of the map is a drop-down to find anything from character locations, restaurants, and yes…the bathrooms! (also known as restrooms)
Did she say skipping lines?
Why yes, yes I did!
There is a section in the app for mobile ordering for quick-service restaurants. You can see the menu ahead of time, order what you want, customize meals when they are customizable, and even pick what time you want to pick it up. Once it’s ready, it will also let you know where to pick it up. Each quick service restaurant has numbered windows for pick up.
I realize this is a lot, and it’s only the tip of the iceberg for using the My Disney Experience App. Here is one of my favorite links to learn more about the app and to help make it easy to understand.
