Do you have discounts for seniors?

It’s not a hard question, but when you’re getting used to the fact that you’re over 60 it’s still a brand-spankin’ new thing to think about.

I am totally guilty of thinking things like:

Should I ask for a discount? (YES!) Does it make me look cheap or needy? (Not at all)

As most of you know, I am still on the lookout for discounts for those of us 60+ (and even you young’uns at 55+) but they are not as easy to find as I had hoped.

But one found me!

While I was on the phone, scheduling a very high-priced maintenance date for our generator, the kind woman on the phone asked, “Are either of you a veteran or over 65?”

Aha!

So, although neither of us has leveled up to that point…yet…one of us is only a few years away.

I’ve learned my lesson.

Be forewarned: everywhere I go I will ask “Do you give discounts for those of us ‘of a certain age.’”

Yes, I will be “that” friend. The one that speaks up and maybe even saves us a dollar or two.
