Flavor Essence – A New Hampshire Company

September marks three years of my using Flavor Essence flavors and I can’t think of a better way to start this blog category!

Most people who know me know that I drink a lot of seltzer. In fact, you could call me a seltzer snob! I remember when we moved to Ohio in 2017, my first worry was where I would find my seltzer. We did find some, but the flavors were limited. When we moved back in 2019, I breathed a sigh of relief, knowing I’d have more options for flavor. That’s when my boss spoke up and asked me why I didn’t use a SodaStream. He had a decent argument for cost-effectiveness, carbon footprint, and all the goodness that comes with it but there was still one teensy problem:

There were very limited flavors in their product line.

So, I did some digging and found these: Flavor Essence Custom 5-packs! I took one look at those flavors and knew I had to try them:

The rest, as they say, is history. I’ve been using these in my sparkling water and in my coffee!

With my first order, I learned that Flavor Essence is based in NH. Cool! My bottles came with a lovely note from “Mick” with some ideas for ways to use the essences. Each subsequent order has included a note, as well.

Per their website, there are thirty flavors and they are unsweetened. It also states there are no preservatives, colorings, sugars, sodium, fats, or carbs, If you want to learn more, start here.

Here are some of my favorites:

Sparkling Water:

Blueberry

Blueberry and French Vanilla Creme

Strawberry

Strawberry and French Vanilla Creme

Blueberry and Strawberry

Honey Crisp Apple

Peach and Ginger

Chocolate (milk, I haven’t tried dark yet)

Chocolate and Caramel Creme Brulee

Coffee

Blueberry and French Vanilla Creme

Chocolate and Caramel Creme Brulee

Maple

I’m having a lot of fun experimenting with the different flavors and combinations. The bottles are made in a way that allows you to measure into a spoon, add drops, or stream in the flavor.

Have I written down how many drops per flavor? No. I just start with a few drops for the big SodaStream bottle or one or two drops for a cup of coffee and then stop when it tastes “just right.”

Whether you order directly or from Amazon, I hope you have as much fun playing with flavors as I do!

NOTE: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, but I encourage you to order the way you are most comfortable.
