Have you ever started a great book and had it interrupted by a cold or some other bug that sneaks up on you quickly? That was me reading Haunted Warrior. I started it just as I was starting to feel slightly under the weather. It was a perfect distraction until the fever kicked in, and I found myself reading the same paragraph over and over.
So, I’d put it down.
But then, I found myself picking it right back up again. Darn the fever, full speed ahead, and all that stuff.
It was that good.
Luckily, the fever broke yesterday, and I slid right back into the story. I kept on reading past midnight, making up for lost time.
It was worth it.
Ms. Welfonder’s writing brought me right back to Scotland, one of my favorite places to visit. I could practically feel the har as it settled around different places in the book. And Kendra and Graeme’s story? It was so unique that it kept me guessing how it would pan out. (Yes, we all know how Romances end; it’s how they get there that really pulls us in.)
I should add that as much as I loved the main characters in Haunted Warrior, some of the secondary characters are unforgettable, and I am so glad I met them, too!
