Many years ago, when I worked in a bookstore, I staunchly defended Romance books by pointing out specific titles and authors. If I still worked in a bookstore, The Avenging Angel and the Spy and its predecessor, The Rebellious Lady and the Phantom Lord, would be right at the top of my recommendation list!
They are THAT good.
