Oh, I do love a good escape into a book by Gayle Callen! Return of the Viscount was that and more: a true page-turner filled with mystery and intrigue, topped by a blossoming romance. Add to that a perfect cup of coffee and my comfy chair, and I was a happy Llama indeed.
I found Cecelia and Michael’s story a nice twist from my usual romance novels. What started out as a marriage of convenience and, by proxy, no less, turned into a wonderful love story that grew as they worked to solve the mystery of who was trying to kill her!
I must admit, I figured out “whodunnit” quite quickly, but I had my doubts as the author deftly tossed in twists and turns. It was satisfying to know I was right, in the end, but the journey to get there kept my attention throughout.
I definitely recommend Return of the Viscount and look forward to the next one!
