I think I’ll start this tonight, I said at bedtime, followed by “just one chapter.” The next thing I knew, it was 11:35 and my cat was pacing back and forth, swishing her tail against my face and trying to sit on my phone.
I was reading on a Kindle app. She didn’t like that I was still awake so late at night. I tried to explain that Surrender to the Earl was so well written that time got away from me. But, she was having none of that, so I put my book aside and promptly picked it up the next morning.
Surrender to the Earl is utterly charming and well-crafted, with a few twists and turns that surprised even me.
Audrey and Robert’s story is a wonderful sequel to Return of the Viscount, and I look forward to the third book in the trilogy, Redemption of the Duke.

From Goodreads:
Audrey Blake’s impulsive plan—asking a visitor to help her take ownership of her rightful property—is unraveling all around her. Audrey has been kept in seclusion by her family, and now the enigmatic Robert Henslow, Earl of Knightsbridge, has interrupted her scheme to gain independence, insisting they pretend an engagement.
Duty brought Robert to Audrey. As for what makes him propose marriage, it might be guilt or compassion—or something far more unexpected. Their fake union was supposed to help Audrey. Yet it’s Robert who yearns to prove how much they both have to gain by making their passion real.
