I’m cold!
Now that may not seem like much to you when you first read this, considering that it’s winter and all. However, I’ve been warm, overly warm, or hot-flashed for over fifteen years. So to find myself grabbing a sweatshirt or a sweater is really a treat!
Is this the end of the thermostat “discussions?”
Most of you reading this already know what I mean. When one person radiates heat and the other has to pile on the blankets, there is always at least one discussion in the middle of winter (and one in the summer, of course) as to what the temperature should be set to on the thermostat.
The warmer person should always win. (One can always add more layers, but one can only go so far in removing them before someone gets embarrassed or arrested!)
It’s time for me to search through my closet for those sweaters I just couldn’t part with, but also could not wear, so many years ago. I’m sure there’s a sparkly purple one in there somewhere and one or two outdated but comfy ones, too.
Oh, and sweatshirts! I need to dig out the one I bought on Cape Cod one late fall day many years ago. (That I’ve barely worn since that late fall day many years ago!) It’s a pullover! With a hood!
Bye-bye cardigans!
(Well, most of them. I might keep one or two for sentimental reasons.)
Pah! Who am I kidding? Out they go, donated for some hot-flashing woman who will find them on a rack, think “Ooooh, perfect!” then wonder how long it will be on before it’s torn off her shoulders and tossed across the room as if it’s fire-itself!
I don’t miss those days.
I’m enjoying these.
And, with that, I’m going to curl up with my book, wearing a sweater or maybe wrapped up in a cozy blanket.
Because I can.
I need a catchy closing phrase here. But for now, I wish you happiness and comfy temperatures!
The Cozy Llama
I wish that I experienced being warm all the time. My gene’s in fact make me cold often frozen. My daughter and I battle it out as we is always hot and prefers to cold. Which is why I sometimes refer to her as the Cold Meiser. Her brother prevents being hot . He is the Heat Meiser. I’m laying under a comforter and I am freezing. I’ll trade with for a day 🙂
